If there's a heaven for me, I'm sure it has a beach attached to it. - Jimmy Buffett
Hi Folks
The pics are from the usual locations, but have noted that the sand is back at both the northern and southern ends. I think about 50m of sand has been added to the shoreline.
The other item of sad news is that our friendly Octopus has been taken by a fisherman. His companion has survived and I have included some pics. I guess he will have to take over the role of Occy. It is still popular with the local visitors and swimmers.
The mornings this week were very dark at the 6:30 am mark, with patches of rain.
Some of the pics featured:
- Turimetta Beach & overcast mornings
- Turimetta red pre-sunrise
- Narrabeen Bridge views
- Occy (Survivor)
- White Faced Heron

Hi Folks
Mixed bag this week, with the usual visits to Turimetta Beach, but also including Warriewood Beach, home sunsets and a few pics around Darling Harbour on my way to the Seniors concert last Thursday afternoon.
Our resident octopus was very active this week, and I managed to get some pics while he was in the shallow tidal pool next door to Narrabeen Rock Pool. He is very popular with the local residents who always have a quick look to see how he is going.
I say he (for the octopus), but it might be a female, as I saw a smaller octopus nearby as well this week.
Some of the pics featured:
- Turimetta Beach & sunrises & rocks & surfers
- Warriewood Beach & sunrises & seaweed
- Squadron of Cormorants
- Kayakers
- Sunsets from my home at Warriewood
- Narrabeen Rock Pool & sunrises & reflections
- Resident Octopus in tidal pool
- Photo club & sunrise
- Closed Narrabeen lake entrance
- Golden pre-sunrise at Turimetta Beach
- Sunrise at Narrabeen Lake entrance (no wind)
- Darling Harbour pics on my way to the Seniors Concert.
As always, enjoy nature.

Hi Folks
Weather is getting milder. It's a lovely time in the morning for a beach walk & watching the sunrises about 7 am this time of the year. Especially if there is no wind.
The big change I noticed is that the sand is back at both the northern & southern ends of the beach. Nature moves all this sand within a week, whilst Council hired trucks & excavators for a month to move the same amount of sand (& cost about $2.5 million).
Some of the pics featured:
- Waiting for sunrise at Turimetta Lookout
- Turimetta Beach rocks, sand & sunrise
- Dead Muttonbird (Shearwater) & Lizard tracks?
- Warriewood home last light
- Sunrise & rocks
- High tide flow over Narrabeen Rockpool tidal flats
- Sunrise from Narrabeen Rockpool
As always, enjoy nature.

Hi Folks
Another mixed week with a struggling sunrises. I have been fairly busy over these past couple of weeks with weddings, funerals & car services.
It was on my last car service today that I went for a walk from Bassett St to Mona Vale Beach whilst I was waiting for the mechanics. I took pictures of the summer survivor flowers along the street garden beds. I was surprised how many still remained.
Some of the pics featured:
- Turimetta Beach sunrises
- Turimetta Beach rocks & clouds
- Warriewood home sunsets
- Rat Park & Perl St Lookout sunrise clouds
- Dead rat & sand crab burrow
- Sunrise beach photographer
- Flowers on walk along Bassett St to Mona Vale Beach
- Norfolk Is Pine bark
- Swimmers at The Basin (Mona Vale Beach)
- Flowers growing in stormwater pit
As always, enjoy nature.
