A small group of pics from this week, plus a couple of lost ones from the previous week. The sunrise is well and truly finished by the time I get there at 6:30 am, but there are other things to attract the camera, especially at low tide and the algae growth.
I managed to get to Collaroy Beach and the rocks just south of the rock pool one morning at low tide to get some rock and seaweed patterns, as well as the late sunrise. What I did notice was the abundance of shellfish, barnacles etc among the rocks, and the extent of seaweed. A total contrast to the lack of these at the Narrabeen Rock Pool tidal flats, which have been picked pretty clean by humans.
The mother Lapwing and chick at the Sports Academy car park was special. She was just sitting in the morning sunshine just near my car and the footpath. The chick would stay under her wings if danger approached, and then would roam freely when it was quiet. Was special to witness.
I discovered that I scream the same way whether I'm about to be devoured by a Great White Shark or if a piece of seaweed touches my leg. - Axl Rose
